ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Laura Bennett, PMH-C, is a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. She completed her specialty training through Postpartum Support International and holds her PMH-C credential, demonstrating rigorous expertise in supporting women through the perinatal period. Laura has also pursued ongoing professional development in trauma-informed care and maternal mental health at the Mother-Baby Behavioral Health Institute. As the author of 17 Gentle Steps Toward Your Inner Sunrise, she drew on this extensive training to craft a compassionate, evidence-based roadmap that helps mothers move through the darkest days of postpartum depression toward renewed hope and light.
With over twelve years of experience in both private practice and hospital-based perinatal programs, Laura has guided more than two thousand new and expecting mothers through individual and group counseling.
